How I supplement my son’s nutrient intake
Kat shares her tips on how she supplement her son’s nutrient intake to ensure he consumes all the goodness he needs.
Protein powder + Kids Essentials meal replacement formula.
Easiest way is use COLD fridge water and spoon it in (nutritionist can help you work out correct scoops to water, or you can make both as per directions and blend I guess) and use a cake mixer directly into these cheap Decor jugs.
We use decor water bottles as they’re easy to drink from, but super age appropriate too as they’re not baby bottles. But my son absolutely doesn’t have capacity to navigate drinking 350mL formula from a cup.
If your child potentially has (or ACTUALLY has) dysphagia, giving it super cold from fridge may be helpful to get them consistently drinking it.
He has 2 daily - one at bedtime after his bath, (we brush teeth after bottle, while he’s in bed, with his auto brush) and one in the morning when he wakes up.
He gets it himself from the beauty fridge in my ensuite, after his morning wee - I already paid my parenting dues, no more fetching bottles of milk!
He has coeliac and dysphagia, but original diagnosis was ARFID for years.
I wish I’d worked this out years sooner than I actually did, so thought I’d share!
